Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners' Trailer: Southern Horror Unleashed

Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” Trailer Drops with Haunting, Jim Crow-Era Horror

While the future of another highly anticipated Black vampire film remains uncertain, writer/director Ryan Coogler has unveiled the first trailer for his chilling new horror film, “Sinners.”

Known for his powerful dramatic social commentary in films like Fruitvale Station and his blockbuster genre work on the Black Panther franchise, Coogler takes a sharp turn into the realm of pure terror with “Sinners.” Set in the 1930s Jim Crow South, the film centers on twin brothers (both portrayed by Michael B. Jordan) who return to their small town hoping for a fresh start, only to confront a deeply unsettling presence lurking in the shadows.

As daylight gives way to darkness, an eerie atmosphere descends upon the town. The townsfolk, including Miles Caton, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, and Li Jun Li, find themselves constantly looking over their shoulders as something sinister watches them from the fringes.
