Texas Longhorns vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs: Game Time, TV Channel, and Preview
The Texas Longhorns will play their first SEC game against a familiar opponent: the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The game, scheduled for Saturday, September 28th, will be a part of Week 5 of the 2024-2025 NCAA season.
Head Coach Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorns will host the Bulldogs at Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas. This will be the fifth game of the season for Texas, who have a perfect 4-0 record. They have defeated Colorado State (52-0), Michigan (31-12), UTSA (56-7) and ULM (51-3). The Bulldogs will be looking to rebound after a 1-3 start to the season, coming off of a 30-23 loss to Arizona State.
The Longhorns and Bulldogs have a history, with Texas winning the first two meetings, in 1921 and 1998. They have split the last two, one for each team in 1991 and 1992. This game marks a new chapter in their rivalry, as Texas has joined the SEC after 27 years in the Big 12.
The game will be a chance for quarterback Arch Manning to showcase his skills in his third game at the helm of the Longhorns. Texas will look to maintain their unbeaten streak going into their Week 6 bye.
The Texas-Mississippi State game will kick off at 4:15 p.m. ET (3:15 p.m. CT/1:15 p.m. MT). Texas is favored to win.
